project overview

On behalf of CBRE Lionbrook (General Partners) Ltd, Zerum prepared and submitted a planning application for an extension to the existing Clock Towers Shopping Centre in Rugby Town Centre.  The proposed development included retail (A1 Use Class), office (B1 Use Class) and leisure (D2, A3, A4 and A5 Use Classes) uses. The proposal effectively created an extension to the existing Clock Towers Shopping Centre along with a new office building, cinema, additional retail units and flexible A3/A4/A5 units. Although only submitted in Outline the application was supported by a wide range of documents including an Archaeology Statement, Air Quality Assessment and a Noise Assessment.  The application was reported to Committee in January 2014 and was unanimously approved by Members.

In addition to the planning application we were also involved in the submission of representations to the LPA objecting to a planning application for an extension to an existing out-of-town Retail Park.   This then progressed to involvement in the Judicial Review process where we instructed Counsel, prepared a Witness Statement and appeared at the Hearing.
