Production Park is Europe’s leading live events destination with five studios and approximately 20 events businesses. The business park is also home to Academy of Live Technology’s (formerly Backstage Academy) primary campus offering degree level courses in the entertainment industry.

• Zerum have provided planning services to Production Park since 2018, including the preparation and submission of planning applications for the continued growth of the existing facilities, as well as promoting additional areas of land through the Wakefield Local Plan.
• Zerum’s involvement resulted in the land being released from the Green Belt as a mixed-use allocation comprising approximately 50,000m² of additional floorspace for Production Park and 23,000m² of new floorspace for Backstage Academy. The allocation also includes new residential and student accommodation development.
• Zerum secured planning permission for the Xplor building which is a specialist knowledge and innovation centre; that focuses on research and development for the live events industry and its supply chain. Specialist equipment and space is used to deliver a support programme targeting SMEs across the live events industry, covering specialisms such as music, TV, film, sports, corporate events, theatre and arts.
