great homer street

Landmark apartment building with views over Everton Park
  • Client: Soller Two Limited
  • Location: Great Homer Street, Liverpool
  • Sector: Residential

project overview

Zerum were instructed to prepare and submit a planning application on behalf of Soller Two Limited for the erection of a residential development comprising 277 apartments over nine storeys. The application site is located in north Liverpool, on the edge of the Liverpool city centre boundary, adjacent to the Kingsway Tunnel, to the south of ‘Project Jennifer’.

The scheme proposes three blocks; two are nine storeys addressing both Great Homer Street and Virgil Street. The third block is central to the site and eight storeys in height. This residential development comprises 277 Private Rented Sector apartments with residents’ roof terraces on the upper levels, including green roof terrace at the Central Block and garden room and associated communal facilities at ground floor.

When developing the scheme it was important that the building took advantage of the adjacent Everton Park and city centre views. The building height ensures that the upper levels will have great views over multiple aspects. The development will create a landmark building improving the legibility of key access route into the city centre, Everton Park and helping to link Project Jennifer into the city centre.

The application secured planning consent in February 2017.
