We have acted on various sites for MSA Extra in the South East of England
  • Client: MSA Extra
  • Location: South East England
  • Sector: Road side Services

project overview

Cobham – Planning permission was secured for an extension to the existing on-site hotel.  The application also included a reconfiguration and extension of the existing link between the Amenity Building and the hotel entrance to include a new restaurant.  The extension was designed so that it mirrored the existing building in terms of materials, scale and mass.  Justification for the extension within the Green Belt was provided within the application.

In addition consent was secured for a new Unit 11 to the Amenity Building and an application was progressed for a new HGV area to the west of the site.

Peterborough and Cambridge – Consent was secured for new entrances and extensions to both service areas at Peterborough and Cambridge.  Both Amenity Buildings were dated in their appearance and permission was therefore secured to update both buildings. As well as updating the front of the buildings, the space was re-organised internally to create new units and more functional space.

In addition planning applications were prepared and submitted seeking extensions to the existing hotels at both MSAs.

At Cambridge consent was also secured for a reorganisation of the wider MSA, including an increased capacity for HGV’s.

Beaconsfield – Similar to Cobham consent was secured for a new Unit 11 at the Amenity Building within the existing Service Area.

As part of the wider estate management of the MSA planning applications were submitted in relation to an HGV Parking Area and a Drive-Thru Starbucks.

Baldock – Planning consent was applied for and secured for a reconfiguration of the existing parking area and an extension to the existing Starbucks.
