Nursery Street, Sheffield

Planning

Project Overview

Zerum were instructed to prepare and submit a planning application for the demolition of the existing buildings currently on site and erection of a mixed-use development including three interconnected blocks, two at 12 storeys and one at 7 storeys incorporating 268 residential units and two commercial units.

Highlights

  • The scheme is a modern high-quality development that relates to, respects and responds to the evolution of the area.
  • This has been achieved, whilst respecting and considering the Listed Buildings and Kelham Island Conservation Area directly adjacent to the site.
  • The three proposed buildings respond appropriately to the historic surroundings, with a step-down approach, to create a more visually manageable and balanced development.
  • Block A was designed to respect the character and heritage of the adjacent listed church whilst Block’s B and C create focal points that offer strong views across Sheffield city centre.
  • Client: Brickland
  • Location: Nursery Street, Sheffield
  • Sector: Residential
