St Michael’s, Manchester

Project Overview

An iconic, mixed-use, Manchester City Centre development being delivered across two phases.

The first phase being constructed by Bowmer & Kirkland, comprising a 10 storey commercial office building with retail & restaurant spaces on the ground floor, and an internationally renowned restaurant – Chotto Matte, at rooftop level.

The second phase is due to commence on site Q3 of 2023; and will include luxury residential apartments, a 5 star hotel with associated leisure facilities, 50,000 sq.ft of grade A office accommodation and public realm facilities at ground and rooftop level. The second phase is planned to be delivered by Domis Construction.

The two phases, are being delivered by different international funding partners, but mainly being delivered by the same multi-disciplinary project team to maintain a coherent design.

The scheme is in a high profile and complex part of the city due to its close proximity to the Manchester Town Hall, which is also a conservation area and has led to the retention of the façade of the existing Bootle Street Police Station and the retention of the Abercrombie pub.
